What is the gospel?

What is the Gospel for the "Born again" believer in Christ? (1 Corinthians 15)

  • Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures

  • He was buried and rose again bodily on the third day assuring us of our promised resurrection

  • The resurrected Jesus was seen by many, 40 days later ascending to the right hand of the Father

  • There is a 'Rapture' of Christ's Church that the believer anticipates (1 Thess 4:16)

  • There is a 1000 year millennial Kingdom to anticipate and an Eternal State to follow

What do I need to know?

  • There is nothing I can do on my own to receive eternal Life

    • 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.' - John 14:6

  • I am a sinner separated from God

    • 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.' - Romans 3:23

  • Without Christ I am responsible for My own sin

    • 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' - Romans 6:23

BUT
  • A Son was Sent

    • 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' - John 3:16

  • A Saviour Came

    • 'I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.' - John 10:10

  • A Sacrifice was Given

    • 'But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.' - Romans 5:8-9

  • Salvation is Offered

    • 'that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' - Romans 10:9

What must I do to be Saved?

A: Admit

that you are a sinner... ASK for forgiveness of sins paid by the blood of Christ

B: Believe

the Message of Eternal Life

That Jesus Died... was Buried... and Rose again... and is Coming Again!

C: Confess

Christ as Lord and Master of your life

Repentance is 'seeing your need for Christ' and 'turning to Him' in obedience
